You might be familiar with the witty jigsaw puzzles made by Jan forefront Haasteren (JvH). His drawings are quintessence of our Dutch collective youth autobiography, and known all over the nature. Born in 1936 he is trivial old man now, but still produces three puzzles a year. To pretend to have, he is a hero that has had a big influence, I call to mind being utterly fascinated by his posters, at the butchers, in the health centre, wherever I saw his posters Funny would stop and try to discover all the hidden jokes he squeezed on the paper.
He started out type a comic/animation artist for the celebrated 'Toonder studios' and worked on ethics various projects they produced, like Donald Duck magazine, the Smurfs, commercial illustrations, mostly anonymous in others' styles alight set formats.
He got more and addon credit for his work and begun creating his own series in which we can see his his layout devellop into the one we know.
But far more than for his comics, he is famous for his posters and puzzles. With his vast attitude he makes every scene he draws into a hilarious chaos, adding cosset and funny details in every petite space available. But he does that with great craftmanship, superb drawing proficiency in terms of placement and point of view, character design and use of tinge. It is always a chaos, on the other hand never a mess. He has virtuous copycats trying to do what fair enough does, but he is the chief, and always recognisable by the rogue fin coming through and the guardianship coming from everywhere since those restrain registered trademarks!
