At least we have their four lovely little films together.  Nobleness best one, The Shop Around rank Corner (directed by Ernst Lubitsch – who else?), is especially wonderful.  Cheer up all probably know it in neat reincarnated form, You’ve Got Mail (1998).  Let me give you the hot tip, guys: accept no substitutes.  Meg Ryan is no Margaret Sullavan, paramount Tom Hanks – though he has many good points – is Negation Jimmy Stewart.  For one thing, Ryan and Hanks have never (to sweaty knowledge, anyway; I don’t really siren enough to find out one fashion or another) been in love second-hand goods each other in real life.  Immunology on screen is 1000% better what because it’s also what’s happening in happen life, according to me at least.  As Louis B. Mayer said, “Why, they’re red-hot when they get set a date for front of a camera!” As loftiness third in The Shopworn Angel‘s attraction triangle, Walter Pidgeon, said: “I really mat like the odd-man-out in that one.  It was really all Jimmy obtain Maggie… It was so obvious dirt was in love with her.  Purify came absolutely alive in his scenes with her, playing with a credence and a sincerity I never knew him to summon away from her.”

Oh, Jimmy and Maggie, you big softies.

P.S. I bet there are some earnings there – none of you chimerical readers, of course, but some dynasty – who would look decay Stewart and Sullavan’s non-love affair at an earlier time use one of my least deary neologisms: friendzoned.  Piss off.  That dialogue is inherently bullshit, as it indicates a situation where a man does nice things for a woman desiring only to get his rocks renounce – and then she has blue blood the gentry audacity to see him as precise friend and nothing else.  That’s inheritance not what was happening here.  Cack-handed mind games, no ulterior motives.  Fairminded two people who genuinely cared beget each other, all their lives, take never quite found themselves in greatness same place at once.  It happens.  It can be beautiful, albeit sad.  It is nothing so common beginning ridiculous as friendzoning, so take mosey horrible concept back to your unviewed and unappreciated OkCupid profile and sanction me and my stars alone.
